The Bronze Trophy Show is steeped in
tradition dating back many years. The show is usually the first or second weekend
in May .It was a great 2011 Bronze. MARK YOUR
CALENDAR. The 2012 Bronze is
on May 4th, 5th & 6th, 2012. 3 Sets of ROM Points & 3 Sets
of CKC Points. There will also be a Standard & Miniature Bull
Terrier Specialty on May 6th, 2012. In recent years it has
been held in conjunction with the Seaway Kennel Club Championship
All Breed Show and has changed from a two day show to a three day weekend. The weekend events
are held in two locations about ten minutes apart. Traditionally
there has been the Open Trophy event and The Bronze Trophy event on
Saturday & the BTFA Specialty on Sunday. These events are held at
the Allanburg Community Centre. The BTFA will continue to support
the entry at the Seaway Kennel Club Championship All Breed Show on
Friday by providing a BTCA approved ROM judge so that ROM points can
be awarded. In 2012 there will not be a ROM Judge provided on
Saturday. Canadian Championship points will be awarded on both
Friday & Saturday. The Seaway All Breed Championship Dog Show is held at the Thorold Arena. Click here

The venue of the Bronze Trophy Weekend
is part of the reason many bully folk travel from afar to be part of
this event. The show takes place in a rural setting in the Niagara
area of Ontario, Canada. This is considered to be the heart of
Ontario winemaking country. World famous Niagara Falls is nearby and
we traditionally dine in a casual manner overlooking the falls on
Saturday evening after the Bronze. Everyone is welcome, no
reservation is necessary.

The
Rules for Entry and the
Judging
Procedure for the Open Trophy Show and The Bronze Trophy Show are
unique. With only minor changes over the forty years of tradition,
these rules & procedures are not sanctioned by the Canadian Kennel
Club. Therefore these events do not qualify for Canadian
championship points and the show is not a CKC event. However the
BTFA Specialty on Sunday is a CKC sanctioned event and Canadian
championship points are awarded in the usual manner.
In 2007 the Bull Terrier Fanciers
Association held the first Annual BTFA BT Rescue parade as part of
the Bronze Trophy Weekend. This provided a format for our rescues
and their adopted parents to come and be recognized for the
challenges in life that they have successfully overcome.
In 2010 the BTFA formally accepted
the Miniature Bull Terrier fancy to become part of the club. MBT
folks are now included in all BTFA activities & events. As a result,
the BTFA has supported the entry of Miniature Bull Terriers at the
Seaway Kennel Club Show on Friday & Saturday of the Bronze Trophy
Weekend. The BTFA MBT National Specialty is held on Sunday. All
these are Canadian Kennel Club Sanctioned Shows and Canadian
Championship points are awarded. In 2012 the BTFA added the
inaugural BTFA MBT Trophy Show featuring The Don Cherry Trophy.
